7th Swanley Scout Group
Charlotte Dowd - Squirrels Team Leader

Hey I'm Charlotte, mother of three, and I have been an 'ad-hoc' parent helper at Scouts and other groups for the last four years as my eldest grew up. But now I'm fully involved in our Squirrels group with my littlest ones. Having children within the age bracket definitely helps me to think of ideas and fun things we can do to work towards our badges, but also work towards being team players and kind and considerate people. My children are also home educated due to their varying SEN and disabilities, so I've also picked up lots of educational but fun resources from those communities and have a great understanding in children with SEN and disabilities too.

I'd like to think I'm a fun and active person who enjoys a game of duck duck goose as much as the children do! Exploring, adventures, having fun and learning/trying new things are a top priority for me. I'm all for youth-led activities too, and working towards our badges in a way they enjoy and engage well with. This planet is our children's future and giving them a keen sense of respect, care and encouragement to protect it, it's inhabitants and how things work is key to building a brighter future for them as individuals and the planet as a whole - Doing that with interesting and fun activities, explorations, experiments and crafts makes it all the more better!

Luciana Ferreira - Beaver Team Leader

Hi, I’m Luciana, but in the Scouts, you can call me Foxy. I joined the Scouts recently when my kids decided to be part of this amazing community. I’ve always loved nature and have a strong sense of community, so joining the Scouts is the perfect way to bring all that together! Coming from a Brazilian farmer family, I grew up surrounded by the outdoors, which gave me a love for adventure and a deep respect for nature. Outside of Scouts, I’m a travel lover, always looking for new places to explore. I’m also a mum of two and the proud owner of a marketing agency. I’m excited to be part of this journey with the Scouts, helping young people discover the beauty of nature, learn new skills, and create lasting memories.

Rosie Willson - Cub Team Leader

Hi, I'm Rosie – but to the Cubs, I'm Akela! I joined Cubs in April 2025 alongside my son, and it's been an exciting journey ever since. Scouting runs in the family – my great-grandma was also an Akela for many years, and it's an honour to walk in her footsteps. Before joining Cubs, I was a Brownie myself, so you could say the spirit of adventure has always been part of my life! I bring a wide range of skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to my role, and I love helping our Cubs grow in confidence, curiosity, and teamwork while having loads of fun along the way.
